The mTECH REHAB Lab’s goal is to discover effective methods to expedite a robust functional recovery. The lab explores the neural mechanisms underlying impaired function by analyzing motion capture data from people who have suffered from a stroke or other forms of neurological impairment such as cerebral palsy.

The Rehab Lab: Singapore’s Top Choice for Injury and Rehab Solutions

In partnership with the Cardio Metabolic Institute, The Rehab Lab developed and tested a behavioral intervention to improve the health behaviors of individuals who have cardiac rehabilitation. The study is in transition to a randomized controlled trial.

REHAB-LAB is a fully integrated FabLab in a rehabilitation or medico-social organization where patients can design their own assistive devices with the aid of 3D printing. The idea is to involve the person with a disability in their own rehabilitation process and empower them with the tools and technology that will allow them to create devices that are also with higher specifications responding to their personal needs.

The DigitalHealthEurope twinning has already allowed the transfer of the REHAB-LAB innovative concept created in France for manufacturing assistive devices by 3D printing to three European adopters with different maturity levels. The next steps are the launch of the collaborative platform to support the community and starting the REHAB-LAB-4ALL twinning with six further adoptioners.
